Shooting at NIU, suspect in custody

DEKALB, Ill. - Northern Illinois University in Dekalb is still open after reports of a shooting.

According to a campus alert issued at 4:29am on the NIU website, the suspect has been apprehended and is in custody. Police say it happened Stevenson student dorms. One NIU student has been injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police say it was an isolated incident between two people. The campus remains open but students are advised to take caution when they go to class today.
