17 times the legal limit? Did you see how much jail time she could be getting? I guess they are very serious abou DWIs in Poland.

3. I don't believe she was 17 times the legal limit.

The legal limit in Poland is .5 BAC http://www.icap.org/publications/report11.html

This is the same method and units of measure that we in the U.S. use when we say our limits are .8 and 1.0, depending on your state. That would mean she had a BAC of 8.5!

0.13-0.15 BAC: Gross motor impairment and lack of physical control. Blurred vision and major loss of balance. Euphoria is reduced and dysphoria (anxiety, restlessness) is beginning to appear. Judgment and perception are severely impaired.

0.16-0.19 BAC: Dysphoria predominates, nausea may appear. The drinker has the appearance of a “sloppy drunk.”

0.20 BAC: Felling dazed, confused or otherwise disoriented. May need help to stand or walk. If you injure yourself you may not feel the pain. Some people experience nausea and vomiting at this level. The gag reflex is impaired and you can choke if you do vomit. Blackouts are likely at this level so you may not remember what has happened.

0.25 BAC: All mental, physical and sensory functions are severely impaired. Increased risk of asphyxiation from choking on vomit and of seriously injuring yourself by falls or other accidents.

0.30 BAC: STUPOR. You have little comprehension of where you are. You may pass out suddenly and be difficult to awaken.

0.35 BAC: Coma is possible. This is the level of surgical anesthesia.

0.40 BAC and up: Onset of coma, and possible death due to
respiratory arrest.

8. i was just being a smart ass
the point is that europeans express bac in mg/mL

americans in percentages.

hence, 0.5 mg/mL in europe would be 0.05% in the usa (i.e., 0.5 mg/mL is 0.5 ppt, or 0.0005, or 0.05%).

nevertheless, 17 times over the limit is still 0.85 on the scale you used to describe health effects.

10. To be fair to the nun, maybe she had to help the priest
finish off the communion wine. They can't just throw it out, once it has been poured and changed into the blood of Christ, right? Somebody has to drink it. Just trying to do her part. Who knew she was going to be called on to drive the tractor?

15. Good idea for a bumper sticker. It was driving the ttractor that got me.
As you know, tractor are not licensed for the road. One is allowed to drive them a very minimun amount of miles to get from one field to another. They are not road vehicles. Wonder where she was suppose to be with that tractor?
