FBI raid at meat processor believed tied to immigration irregularities
Source: Chicago Tribune

Federal agents investigating possible Immigration irregularities conducted raids at a Grundy County meatpacking business and several Chicago locations over the weekend, sources familiar with the probe said Monday.

The FBI's Chicago office confirmed agents took part in the execution of a search warrant Sunday at a First World Management Services plant in Kinsman, northwest of Dwight. FBI spokesman Ross Rice said no arrests were made there.

But a source said the owner of the plant, which processes lamb and goat, was taken into custody at his home in Chicago.

Documents and records were taken from the plant and from a Chicago travel agency on West Devon Avenue, also owned by the same person, the source said.

Can't tell from this whether the owner was arrested or not. Looks like the Obama administration is continuing to go after the owners and managers of companies that may be employing illegal immigrants rather than the Bush policy of large scale arrests of the workers while treating management with kid gloves.

2. About time
they go after the employers.
If no one hired them they would not be coming here.

3. About time they go after the owners, not the workers. That'll end illegal immigration if they can't
get jobs and insure these fucking greedy corporations can't continue to abuse them and lower our wages at the same time. rec'd

4. good move
