Australia opposition leader would win election, says poll
The new leader of the Labor Party is the most popular opposition leader in more than 20 years and would easily steer the party to victory in national elections expected later this year, according to a poll published yesterday.

The ACNielson poll published in The Sydney Morning Herald newspaper showed 62 percent of the 1,426 voters surveyed are happy with the way Labor's Mark Latham has performed since he took over the party's leadership late last year.
