Duvalier Wants to Return to Haiti Soon

MIAMI (Reuters) - Deposed Haitian dictator Jean-Claude "Baby Doc" Duvalier wants to return as soon as possible to his homeland, where Jean-Bertrand Aristide resigned as president after armed rebels took over much of the country.

Duvalier said in a television interview aired late on Monday, a day after Aristide fled Haiti, that he had requested a diplomatic passport several weeks ago, although he does not plan to run for president.

The government of Haiti, the poorest nation in the Americas, says the Duvalier regime stole $500 million from the country's treasury. Human rights groups say Duvalier should face charges for the slayings, torture and imprisonment of thousands of people seen as opponents of his rule.

4. Duvalier's people are all over the internet discrediting Aristide

and spreading their filth. There are letters from him to the entire diaspora saying he wants to return and rounding up all the FRAPH macoutes to help.

Earler today, I posted an interview he did with CBS in Dec 2002 where he was demonizing Aristide, lamenting the fate of the poor (whose illiteracy went from 90% to less than 40% under Aristide thanks to all the schools he built) and blah, blah, how he intended to return.

This is not good news. When he took off because the poor we literally going to tear him limb from limb, he was willingly, lovingly given asylum by France and France refused to return the stolen money. In a few short years, the millions (some say billions) are totally gone.

He wants to go back and replenish his stock? On the back of people who have NOTHING?

This is a world gone mad.
