McConnell: GOP opposes (Obama Public) healthcare plan
Source: UPI

WASHINGTON, June 14 (UPI) -- Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said Sunday President Barack Obama's plan for government-backed health insurance
for the public is opposed by his caucus.

In an appearance on CBS's "Face the Nation" program, the Kentucky Republican said the plan is a "non-starter" for most Republican senators. He said Obama's plan would hurt private insurers even though people would be able to have private insurance.

"We can make incredible improvements in American healthcare, but I don't think having more government -- in effect putting Washington between you and your doctor -- is the way to go," he said.

McConnell said already lawmakers are grappling with how to pay for government-run healthcare programs.

You're just against it. Whatever it is, if it has a D by it or Obama's in favor of it, you're against it. YAWN...

You don't think this, you don't think that. I don't think you should be yammering away with these worthless simplistic shortsighted cheapskate selfish "ideas" of yours. I don't think America needs to hear any more shit like this - especially after the last eight years of it, nonstop.

GO AWAY, mitch. Please go to the back of the room where you belong, sit down over there in the corner with your dunce cap on, and STFU. We've heard MORE than enough of you already.

With so many run-of-the-mill prescribe drug doctors out there, choice is extremely important. There are still plenty of good doctors out there, but sometimes it takes looking.

13. Their strategy twofold...1. the costs will be lower for the government plan and 2.
do you want the government telling you who your doctor would be. So they are afraid of lower costs for healthcare and the charade about not choosing your own doctor. Bring it on. Oh, and I have private health insurance and last I looked there was a list of PCP to choose from, so I quess they told me who my doctor would be.

http://www.wisecountyissues.com/?p=62 At least this is deemed, defended and supported as "the acceptable standards of health care" in East Tennessee and southwest Virginia. McConnell is either an idiot or he's in the pocket of some profit machine.

OK, sounds reasonable. But what about some clerk who has a high school diploma telling my doctor that I can't have a certain medication because the insurance company won't pay for it? Do I need to have my doctor begging some clerk for a needed medication or a test? Is Mitch McCabbage Patch doll face OK with that?
I bet Mitch the chinless wonder is plenty happy with his healthcare. He should be; WE PAY FOR EVERY PENNY OF IT!!!

44. NO surprises from the party of NO
Right now there's plenty between the average American patient and their doctor. How about skyrocketing health insurance premiums, insurance companies that deny claims, huge copays, a complex paperwork bureaucracy that is beyond comprehension, and not to forget the largest per capita health care costs of any industrialized nation. So the GOP does not want to improve this fiasco? Let them obstruct at their peril.

Mitch McConnell having government backed health insurance along with the rest of Congress until and unless the public can have guaranteed sign up for the same plan. Why is government socialist health insurance good enough for Congress, but not for the people? Why must we pay for Mitch the Snitch's health care before our own families' health insurance. It is our money and to hell with Mitch using it for his own health. Let him go out and buy some with his salary that he keeps voting to raise.
