Majority Receptive to Law Making Union Organizing Easier
Source: Gallup

PRINCETON, NJ -- A new Gallup Poll finds just over half of Americans, 53%, favoring a new law that would make it easier for labor unions to organize workers; 39% oppose it. This is a key issue at stake with the Employee Free Choice Act now being considered in Congress.

The poll reveals sharply differing reactions to the issue within the general public according to political orientation. Most Democrats (70%) say they would favor a law that facilitates union organizing, while a majority of Republicans (60%) say they would oppose it. Independents lean in favor of such a law, 52% vs. 41%.

Unions- One of the last sources of power that the poor and working class have left. We will never be able to rise up and take this nation back from the Corporate greedmongering titans that currently own you and me, without our unions.

Call your congresscritter and ask them to support the Employee Free Choice Act.

Yes we can pass and sign this wonderful piece of legislation into law soon.

85% of this nations wealth is owned by it's wealthiest 15%- A FUCKING SHAME AND DISGRACE.

How long will we allow ourselves and our families to be raped and plundered by corporate greed?

Light up the switchboards in DC!

Peace

3. So many things are important at this stage of our history that..............
..............the "peons" like most of us don't even know where to begin. Well folks, this may be the biggest most important thing to happen to us peons since the FDR years. Totally agree. Call both your Senators and your congressman/woman and TELL them to vote in favor of EFCA.

4. Correctamundo!
This may be the most important piece of proworker legislation in decades!

This may also be the most important piece of anti-poverty legislation since FDR or at least since LBJ.

Peace

5. Why? The dumbshits get sick and tired of taking it in the shorts?
They decide that maybe big business isn't looking out for their best interests?

I suppose I should say better late than never. But this just frosts me. All the advances unions had made and then pffffffft! Gone because the public believed that all unions were run by the mob.

6. I hear ya!
But...

The public believed alot of absurdity. Then along came the internet and dissenting views to right wing propoganda such as "unions are run by the mob". People began opening their eyes when they heard dissenting views. When they heard an alternative to Limpballs lies.

Methinks the net is crashing the right's party. This radical lefty couldn't be happier. Watching conservativism crumble in front of our eyes. I just wish they wouldn't have taken our nation down along with their obsolete ideology.

7. We also need to overturn Taft-Hartley Act . . .
One of the first GOP regulations imposed upon workers ---

We don't need to reign in unions -- we need to reign in capital and capitalists!

11. Actually we just need to delete one line of the Taft-Hartley Act

I say sneak it into something else when "THEY" aren't looking. Patriot Act in reverse.

K&R!

9. Working class Americans have understood this for decades
It's our representatives in Congress who need to get with the program. Indeed, contact your Senators and Representatives. Cite this poll and tell them that what's good for the American worker is good for America. People who can afford to live on the wages of one job are in a better position to help all of the country, and have something in reserve to help others in other countries, too. Concentrating wealth in a few greedy sets of hands hasn't worked since the Dark Ages, and it didn't work very well then. It surely doesn't work in a modern society.

Let's get Americans working and earning again. Productivity has registered impressive gains over the last three decades, but wages have been stagnant or even fallen behind. It's time that all that wealth generated by labor returned to the people producing it.
