ReutersWASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. envoy for nuclear talks with North Korea will meet his North Korean counterparts on Friday, the State Department said, as negotiators seek to break a deadlock over verifying Pyongyang's nuclear programs.
U.S. envoy Sung Kim will meet North Korean officials in New York and discuss how to verify information that Pyongyang provided to others in the six-nation talks aimed at dismantling North Korea's nuclear programs, a State Department spokesman said.
"Obviously they are going to talk about the six-party talks. There will obviously be some discussions about the verification package which we have been calling on the North Koreans to produce," the spokesman, Robert Wood, told reporters.
