Plane Flies Over Bush* Motorcade
Drudge reporting:

Low flying single engine plane flies directly over President Bushes motorcade in Philadelphia, before being intercepted and grounded by police. Security breach occurred at 12:07PM ET on Interstate 95 heading south toward Philadelphia. Bush had just finished a visit to the Financial Management Service Facility, which mails out tax rebate checks. Flying from right to left the white plane flew over the Presidents motorcade just north of exit 26, with a police chopper hot on it’s tail.

6. Yeah, too bad they weren't that quick...
to scramble right after the first tower was hit on 9/11. But, of course, Chimpmeat wasn't in one.

Wonder how fast they would have scrambled if a wayward airliner veered toward the little elementary school he was at?

Fighter jets scrambled after pilot enters Phila. no-fly zone
By Sam Wood
Inquirer Staff Writer

BERLIN, N.J. - A pilot ventured into a 30-mile no-fly zone as President Bush was visiting Philadelphia around noon, authorities said.

Four F-16 fighters were scrambled and forced the Cessna four-seater to land at the Camden County Airport in Berlin, New Jersey.

Awaiting him were 30 police officers, all with guns drawn. The man got out of the plane and was told to lay on the runway tarmac. Officers carted him off in handcuffs to the Winslow Police station, witnesses said.

33. This guy has an e-mail address link.
I suggest sending him a little note asking why no fighter jets scrambled for an hour and a half on 9-11 and why the Bush administration has actively blocked and underfunded an investigation into 9-11. Who ordered the stand down??

Maybe, just maybe, he's a real journalist.

10. very strange, norad didnt do that on 911
if you ever look at the time line, planes were grounded and not put in the air. General Myers has had some contradictory statements on the matter that dont make sense at all.

This guy just went the wrong way at the wrong time. Nothing more or less. I am sure people break flight zone rules every day.

19. TFR and NOTAM Issues
Edited on Thu Jul-24-03 03:49 PM by Eat_The_Rich
Whenever the Prez travels, the FAA issues a TFR (Temporary Flight Restriction). Ever since 9-11, the size of the TFR has increased to 30 nautical miles. In this particular instance there were two TFRs issued for Philly that overlaped, cutting an 80 nm swath through busy East Coast air space. Sometimes these TFRs are issued with only 12 hours notice, making it hard for pilots who file flight plans the night before, to get current NOTAMS (Notices To Airmen). According to the FAA, that really does not excuse the pilot in command from responsibility. The AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) has been lobbying Congress hard since 9-11 over these restrictions. Believe it or not, there are lobby groups in Washington that are there in the public interest. AOPA is one of them. In any event, go to http://www.aopa.org for more information.

Given as many parts of the world - internal and external - as the BFEE has pissed off, I think it's safe to say this isn't the last time he'll have to deal with an, uh, up-close and creative protestor.
