Four FBI agents hurt in Pakistan bombing
Source: CNN.com

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- Four of the 12 people wounded in the weekend bombing of an Islamabad restaurant are U.S. FBI agents, the bureau confirmed Sunday.

The attack occurred Saturday when a bomb was hurled over a wall surrounding the Luna Caprese restaurant, an outdoor cafe frequented by Westerners, journalists and diplomats.

Four FBI personnel were "slightly injured" in the blast, FBI Special Agent Richard Kolko said Sunday in a written statement.

In addition to wounding the agents, the explosion killed a Turkish woman and wounded a fifth American, three Pakistanis, a person from the United Kingdom and someone from Japan, authorities said.

Yeah, they were just targeting Westerners. The Feds were just icing on the cake, I'm sure.

500 people killed in Pakistani bombings already this year. Sounds like our anti-terror ally is doing a bang-up job!

8. There was another bombing a week or so ago.
One part of the Pakistani government asked the FBI to come in and do some forensic work.

Another part of the government didn't know anything about it. Not surprising. And not a secret: The intra-agency spat was in the newspapers there.

In any event, this was also one of the few places in Islamabad to serve alcohol.

Could have been aimed at the FBI, implying that somebody said where they'd be (whether a colleague in the Pakistani police, an embassy employee, or a waiter). Could have been aimed at foreigners. Could have been aimed at the use of alcohol--even among non-Muslims, public consumption of alcohol is frowned upon as being against "good public morals". Could have been aimed at the use of alcohol by Muslims. Or it could have just been too tempting a target, with the chance to strike a blow at both infidels and apostates, outsiders and bad insiders.

12. Good question!
FBI usually only has jurisdiction in the US proper and the CIA on foreign soil.
Strange.

9. True, but
Isn't that usually in cases when the American government is involved: e.g., the embassies in Africa or the USS Cole?
