Poll: New Yorkers Want Spitzer to Quit
By MICHAEL GORMLEY – 3 hours ago

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Bloggers, commentators and comedians have already weighed in on the prostitution scandal that has imperiled Gov. Eliot Spitzer. Now New Yorkers are getting a shot and their view is clear: He should resign or be removed from office.

A poll released late Tuesday found that 70 percent of New Yorkers think Spitzer should resign, while 66 percent believe he should be impeached and removed from office if he doesn't.

"It's a big thumbs down," said Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion, which conducted the poll. "It points to just how politically untenable his position is right now."

The poll comes a day after allegations that Spitzer hired a high-priced call girl, vaporizing his straight-arrow persona. Investigators said Tuesday he was a repeat customer who spent tens of thousands of dollars.

2. I can't say I blame them
I'd like to know my governor is more concerned with the business of the state instead of his next "date" with a hooker.

8. I think someone else said it but...
If the MSM and Republicans want to call for him to resign he should make sure to mention in his resignation speech that what he did was illegal and wrong and all politicians that have illegally hired prostitutes should resign to re-establish dignity to their office and to better serve the people they represent.

While I disagree with the illegality of prostitution and would argue that the "immorality" of it is questionable at best, I don't think that perception is likely to change soon and thus Vitter and Craig should be put on the hot seat and forced to resign.
