Record turnout possible for Texas primary

AUSTIN - Get ready for some long lines on Election Day.

If the weather is good, as election officials throughout the state are predicting, a record number of Texans are expected to vote in the March 4 primary, easily eclipsing the 1988 record of 2.7 million voters.

And it's my deepest hope that the people, the voters will for the most part recognize that it is important to vote for something, something tangible and someone who has given and promised plans and programs with substance that can be relied on -- and if not can and will be held accountable.

Rather than to vote for nothing but a blank screen onto which anyone cane project their hopes and desires with the sad potential to have those hopes dashed and discarded by someone who has promised nothing and therefore will be accountable for nothing,
