PersonProtesters from Dallas ACORN managed to make it no farther than the lobby of Kay Bailey Hutchisen's Dallas offices before being stopped by building management and escorted out by Dallas PD. No arrests appear to have been made.
No link yet.
This is pretty breaking, as I just watched it happen from my office window.
Protesters from Dallas
http://acorn.org/index.php?id=8969&L=0%2Findex.php%3Fid%3D4201">ACORN converged on Kay Bailey Hutchisen's office building this morning between 10:30 and 11:00 am. An estimated 30-50 protesters entered the lobby chanting and carrying signs, intent on going to the Senator's Dallas office, which is on the 10th floor.
I don't know what their issue was, although ACORN has been focusing on the effects of predatory lending on the poor nationwide.
Building management met them and refused to allow them to proceed. Dallas Police were called and three cruisers showed up. The protesters were escorted off the property — apparently peacefully.
I also have an office in the building (and no, I'm not happy sharing space with that harpy). I don't have any further details, but I don know that if you want to see Princess Hutchisen, you need to drive up in an expensive car and be wearing an expensive suit.
I'll keep looking for news coverage and try to add a link. If someone finds one before me, PM it to me.
