MIAMI -- Just before New Year, President George Bush and Britain's PM Tony Blair staged what French call a "coup de theatre."

That's Gallic for pulling a political rabbit from one's hat.

1. My thought that it was a sham

Kadaffy like the limelight, and he will use us as we will use him. There is nothing that this administration will do that has any truth to it, its all a huge political game! I hope we wake up soon in this country and see the phony* is!!

2. The Economist mag has an excellent article on Libya's rationale

It's the economic reasons. Khadaffy's son is being groomed to be the next leader, and he's very pro economic expansion.

bush and Blair did nothing except go along with what was in their best interests.

Kadafi: sure, let's go right now. Boosh & Blair: hey not so fast there. You got a lot to gain and we are just bluffing. Boosh: Kadafi pal, let's just have a photo op. You're gonna demand millions and the USA is broke, so about just a photo op. Kadafi: I aint playing those games. Come and search me and pay up.
