Giuliani billed obscure agencies for trips
Source: Politico

As New York mayor, Rudy Giuliani billed obscure city agencies for tens of thousands of dollars in security expenses amassed during the time when he was beginning an extramarital relationship with future wife Judith Nathan in the Hamptons, according to previously undisclosed government records.

The documents, obtained by Politico under New York’s Freedom of Information Law, show that the mayoral costs had nothing to do with the functions of the little-known city offices that defrayed his tabs, including agencies responsible for regulating loft apartments, aiding the disabled and providing lawyers for indigent defendants.

At the time, the mayor’s office refused to explain the accounting to city auditors, citing “security.”

2. C'mon Mittens! You're not gonna pass on this little jewel, are ya?
Who's the TRUE fiscal and ethical conservative in the group? "America's Mayor" misappropriated public funds for a lovenest. Say something!

and still have a problem with Giuliani. Word on the street is that an awful lot of right-wingers do.

I don't read a lot of RW blogs or news sources. I depend upon the kindness of strangers to distill the essence in order that I don't have to wade through all that codswollop. Now that I know their inclination, this story is all the more titillating

8. Where are Mitt's staff?
Bury the hatchet right in Rudy's face with this. Here's yet another reminder of his infidelity, combined with the misuse of funds entrusted to him. Money for pro-bono lawyers goes into security for his frigging loveshack in the Hamptons... Evidently having just the one in the WTC wasn't good enough for him.

How many love-nests does he have?

19. Yes, but would dear Judi think it was delightful?
In her mind, she's redecorating the White House, not visiting Sing Sing.

20. No, she would not
That's why I love that this has come out. She's been working on getting her skanky self into the WH for almost thirty years.

When Rudy drops out of the race (or loses straight out), I am going to break a promise I made to myself in January 2001. I will get on a plane. :scared: I will fly to California to celebrate w/mutual Judi despisers the demise of her life long wish.

I have depised her for what she did to me and my friends. She has hurt a lot of people, just because she could. It's how she's led her life.

She does not belong in our White House.

12. This is bullshit.
At the time, the mayor’s office refused to explain the accounting to city auditors, citing “security.”

After Rudy the Ghoul left office, security was completely irrelevant. What are they afraid of, that The Terminator will go back in time and get Rudy if he learned what his security arrangements were?

The ONLY reason to refuse to answer questions about these expenditures is because the money was used to provide security for Rudy's bang-fest with Judi Nathan. In essence, Rudy stuck the public with the bill for cheating on his wife.

New York's mayor receives round-the-clock police protection, and there's no suggestion that Giuliani used his detail improperly on these trips.

First of all, this is a needless expenditure. The mayor of New York is not the president. At most, he needs a single detective to act as body guard, not a team. Anything else is wasting tax payer money and ego-stroking. Second, I think there is plenty of evidence of impropriety. The police call this kind of behavior "probable cause". Next time you get stopped by a cop, see what happens when you refuse to answer his questions by citing "security". When (or if) you get out on bail, let me know how it went.

I believe that Rudy used to prosecute people with lame explanations like this.

21. They ran poor Alan Hevesi out of office for using the state car for his sick mother
of course, Hevesi was a democrat so different standards apply.
What Il Duce did amounts to embezzlement - lets see if anyone has the balls to do to him half of what they did to poor hevesi.

29. Is there anyone who doesn't believe this would be 24/7 coverage on MSM
if Rudy was a Democrat? Hillary laughs, it's news. Barack has a funny middle name, it's news. Edwards - the house, the haircut - it's news. Rudy? He's got the NYPD acting as personal chauffeur for his tootsie and walking her dog, too, and it's a radioactive story. MSM won't go near it.
