Clinton Denounces 'Mission Accomplished'
Source: myway.com/AP

Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton denounced President Bush on Saturday for his "Mission Accomplished" speech and said his conduct of the Iraq war was "one of the darkest blots on leadership we've ever had."

Addressing delegates at the California State Democratic Party convention, Clinton said that if elected president in 2008, she would end the war. The New York senator also promised to "treat all Americans with dignity and equality no matter who you are and who you love." The pledge was clear bow to California's politically active and influential gay community.

Taking on Bush's policies, Clinton contended the president has ignored scientific evidence on global warming and stem cell research while also dismissing the concerns of the middle class. She said his administration had "lied" about the effects of toxic dust at the World Trade Center site in New York after the Sept. 11 attacks.

Her voice raspy from days of campaigning, Clinton brought delegates to their feet when she said she wished she could turn the clock back to a different time.

6. Yep.
This speech is about four years too late.

Someone explain why she is the Chosen One?

11. Because she kept her mouth shut throughout Bush's first term.
Some say.......it was beneficial to Bush's 2004 campaign that so many bigname Dems stuck close to him on war matters.

4. She and Bill stuck close to Bush throughout his 1st term - to keep 2004 safe for him.
while they planned for 2008?

This talk by historian Douglas Brinkley occurred in April 2004:

Whom does the biographer think his subject will pick as a running mate? Not Hillary Rodham Clinton.
"There's really two different Democratic parties right now: there's the Clintons and Terry McAuliffe and the DNC and then there's the Kerry upstarts. John Kerry had one of the great advantages in life by being considered to get the nomination in December. He watched every Democrat in the country flee from him, and the Clintons really stick the knife in his back a bunch of times, so he's able to really see who was loyal to him and who wasn't. That's a very useful thing in life."

Did Carville Tip Bush Off to Kerry Strategy (Woodward)
By M.J. Rosenberg

I just came across a troubling incident that Bob Woodward reports in his new book. Very troubling.

section break

On page 344, Woodward describes the doings at the White House in the early morning hours of Wednesday, the day after the '04 election.

Apparently, Kerry had decided not to concede. There were 250,000 outstanding ballots in Ohio.

So Kerry decides to fight. In fact, he considers going to Ohio to camp out with his voters until there is a recount. This is the last thing the White House needs, especially after Florida 2000.

So what happened?

James Carville gets on the phone with his wife, Mary Matalin, who is at the White House with Bush.

"Carville told her he had some inside news. The Kerry campaign was going to challenge the provisional ballots in Ohio -- perhaps up to 250,000 of them. 'I don't agree with it, Carville said. I'm just telling you that's what they're talking about.'

"Matalin went to Cheney to report...You better tell the President Cheney told her."

Matalin does, advising Bush that "somebody in authority needed to get in touch with J. Kenneth Blackwell, the Republican Secretary of State in Ohio who would be in charge of any challenge to the provisional votes." An SOS goes out to Blackwell.

Keep adding - Did McAuliffe not bother securing the election process for 2002 and 2004 because he was focused on 2008 along with the rest of the Clinton team?

5. If the story about Kerry is true, that shows what treasonous pricks the Clintons really are.

7. I can't imagine a historian like Douglas Brinkley would lie about something like that.
And if Woodward was lying, wouldn't Carville have dressed him down publically when the book came out - or sued him?

9. It took her 4 years to do this?
Why on earth didn't she speak out against that charade the day it happened?

Answer me that, HRC supporters.

10. Or in 2004 as part of a Dem team of bignames showing up on TV to counter GOP
bignames like Giuliani, McCain and Dole who popped up on constantly defending Bush and attacking Kerry.

Where were the bigname Dems throughout that entire year holding Bush's feet to the fire in any united and consistent way?
