1. suicide? or fragging?
Only his mortuary hairdresser knows for sure.

Saddam was not worth one single soldier's life, not one single Iraqi civilian life, not one single Iraqi conscript's life.

I am ashamed to have my country led by such evil murderers.

He deserves to be caught and tried, I'm sorry, but your opinion is sickining. I guess you'd prefer Hitler, Pinochet, Mugabe go unpunished if it would cost a life or two to capture them.....Sick...get a grip on reality.

6. There are literally dozens of men out there worse than Saddam
Edited on Tue Dec-16-03 02:49 AM by NickB79
When are we invading N. Korea, Central Africa, or South America next? Those areas are filled with dictators and tyrants who have killed more people even than Saddam. But hey, if you don't want to dish out hundreds of billions of dollars and tens of thousands of US deaths more for these operations, then "I guess you'd prefer Hitler, Pinochet, Mugabe go unpunished if it would cost a life or two to capture them", right? The hypocricy is mind-boggling here. This war wasn't sold as a human-rights operation, but as a way to protect us from Saddam's mythical WMD. Only when we never found those WMD did the Bush admin. start to even pretend to give a shit about the suffering of the Iraqi people. Many of the same people who now cheer on the war were around to say no to taking Saddam out in 1991 when we had the chance. They didnt care then about the Iraqi civilians, so why would they change now?

It was never our responsibility to remove Saddam. The people of Iraq are the ones who should have ousted him, not us. Would we have as much freedom today if foreign countries had just handed us our freedom without us having to fight for it? No.

8. To compare any of those men to Hussein is laughable.
..in the sense that we only cared about Hussein because he was a scapegoat, a target du jour for our aggression. Are you in favor of military action against every dictatorship on the planet?

2. Non hostile gunshot wound?
How Orwellian. Who coined the phrase? Hill and Knowlton? Whoever did, they should have copyrighted it.

7. Non hostile is just another way of saying "friendly."
The last figures I saw (about 2 weeks ago) listed roughly 25% of all US deaths in Iraq as "non-hostile."

This means we either have the military equivalant of "The Gang Who Couldn't Shoot Straight" over there, or someone is trying to cook the books, or the conditions and orders for our soldiers there are so heinous that many would rather die than continue in this bush league war.
