4. Rules for Removing Insane Commanders
Anybody in the military here who knows the regs for removing looney commanding officers? Since GWB wants everyone to treat him as "commander-in-chief' is it possible to get him out by using the military's own rules against him?

11. Not sure about Military but I think it's the 25th Amendment
... that allows for "removal" of mentally/physically incapacitated Executives.

31. What does "transmitts" mean in the following context?
25th Amendment to the Constitution

Section 3

Whenever the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that he is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, and until he transmits to them a written declaration to the contrary, such powers and duties shall be discharged by the Vice President as Acting President.

Does this mean the president must admit he's batshit crazy?

36. Yep
Bush has to give them a piece of paper saying he is not able to do the job. Until he sends them another one, he is still considered unfit to serve. Also if a majority of his cabinet get together and agree to remove him. Otherwise it is up to the congress to impeach.

5. More info up at CNN
Bush: "I'm the decision-maker" on Iraq
WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush, on a collision course with Congress over Iraq, said Friday "I'm the decision-maker" about sending more troops to the war. He challenged skeptical lawmakers not to prematurely condemn his plan.

"I've picked the plan that I think is most likely to succeed," Bush said in an Oval Office meeting with senior military advisers.

The president had strong words for lawmakers on both sides of the aisle who are lining up to support resolutions opposing his decision to send 21,500 troops to Iraq. He challenged them to put up their own ideas. "Some are condemning a plan before it's even had a chance to work," he said.

6. What a sick, lying asshole...
Edited on Fri Jan-26-07 10:54 AM by Hepburn
...and those are his good points. I am soooooooo sick of his lies about no one else having a plan. Maybe someone should read a few to the idiot ~~ assuming that he would even comprehend anything said to him.

Twisted sick son of a bitch ~~ sending more soldiers and Iraqis to their deaths. If there is a hell, I hope he rots there for eternity.

Edit for typo.

18. It's how he's defining 'plan'
...if it doesn't involve blowing shit up and killing people, then it's not a 'plan'.
It's defeat, or failure, or appeasing the terrorists.
:nuke:
Notice how this COMPLETELY takes the concept of 'DIPLOMACY' off the table?

16. Now I don't want to start a flame war.
But for those who have, for two months plus now, insisted against impeachment, I feel the need to ask if you are still as adamantly against it?

The Bush administration is de laminating into two power groups that seem to be autonomous. Neither of them seems to have much use for the constitution. Is there another way to curtail this military dictator short of insurrection?

21. Sounds like "decider" didn't land. Someone must have had a little talk
with baby bush. No georgie, use decision-maker, decider sounds too much like a terrible two-year-old.
Now practice: I am the decision-maker, I am the decision-maker.

23. I wish Impeachment was FAST
I wish, like Mike Wallace suggested last night on The Colbert Report, that we could have a vote of "no confidence" and get this idiot out of office immediately. Cheney would have to go, too.

Dictator may not have been the real headline, but it certainly describes his actions.

Khrushchev's 1960 shoe-banging incident at the United Nations?

I'm the decision maker!
Really, I am the decider!
Waaah, Unkle Dick, they won't listen to me!
<take shoe off and pounds the fireplace mantle>
I am! I am! I am the decider!

IMO, throw a net over this psychopath and haul him away!
At least TAKE AWAY HIS POWER to launch a ground invasion into Iran!?!
