Bush Twins In Naked Spin
Tuesday, 28 November 2006
Fairfax New Zealand Limited

US President George W Bush's twin daughters, Jenna and Barbara, have reportedly been told to cut short their holiday in Argentina after claims they had run naked down a hallway in their hotel.

But hotel staff have denied the report in a tabloid in Buenos Aires, according to the US ABC network.

The sisters celebrated their 25th birthdays over the weekend and ABC reports that officials fear that daily and sometimes wild coverage in Argentinian papers has drawn too much attention to their stay and is straining security arrangements.

The network also suggested that the media fuss has upstaged the publicity plans for the new US Ambassador Anthony Wayne, who had only recently arrived in the country.

The entire Bush family needs to be placed in diplomatic quarantine.

55. or Derbyshire - remember his Chelsea hit piece?
http://www.nationalreview.com/derbyshire/derbyshire021501.shtml

Chelsea is a Clinton. She bears the taint; and though not prosecutable in law, in custom and nature the taint cannot be ignored. All the great despotisms of the past — I'm not arguing for despotism as a principle, but they sure knew how to deal with potential trouble — recognized that the families of objectionable citizens were a continuing threat. In Stalin's penal code it was a crime to be the wife or child of an "enemy of the people". The Nazis used the same principle, which they called Sippenhaft, "clan liability". In Imperial China, enemies of the state were punished "to the ninth degree": that is, everyone in the offender's own generation would be killed, and everyone related via four generations up, to the great-great-grandparents, and four generations down, to the great-great-grandchildren, would also be killed. (This sounds complicated, but in practice what usually happened was that a battalion of soldiers was sent to the offender's home town, where they killed everyone they could find, on the principle neca eos omnes, deus suos agnoscet — "let God sort 'em out".)

We don't, of course, institutionalize such principles in our society, and a good thing too. Our humanity and forbearance, however, has a cost. The cost is, that the vile genetic inheritance of Bill and Hillary Clinton may live on to plague us in the future. It isn't over, folks. Dr. Nancy Snyderman, a "friend of the family" (how much money did she give them?) is quoted as saying that Chelsea shows every sign of following her parents into politics. "She's been bred for it," avers Dr. Snyderman. Be afraid: be very afraid.

Guilt by association is not enough until you prove yourself guilty on your own. So far they sound like they're pretty harmless doing a lot of things we ourselves have probably done.

And to make the matter worse, no one is really sure it happened.

your criminal family in South America (their other mission) certainly makes one a certifiable member of a criminally sleazy family. The girls aren't down there solely to humiliate their country, the family needs a place to hide should the world demand accountability for their crimes.

Clinton violated his marital bond, Bush violated the country and the constitution. There is just no comparison, except in the deluded minds of those who still can't see what happened. It's pathetic that anyone still can't tell the difference. I guess that's how he gets away with it, with permission from those who exist in a state of pathological denial.

But I would say that getting a blowjob and running down a hall naked a little drunk are in roughly the same league, and worthy of little more than a minor comment before moving on to the real stuff. I am not going to say the twins are great people, but they should not carry the guilt of their father because they are his daughters any more than that you should be held responsible if your father runs out and robbs a bank.

87. You're right, of course. But consider
that what is happening is that a story like this taps into our seething anger over what has happened during the Bush administration's disastrous invasion of Iraq. Our military was lied into a war. What could be more serious? We're not paying for this war. Our taxes haven't gone up. We're not supposed to hear the details of this war - don't mention the names of the casualties on Nightline. Don't show the returning caskets. Just pretend it's not happening.
So, the Bush twins become emblematic of the division between those who feel so deeply the pain of this horrible war and those who just want us to shut up, play our video games, and watch our reality TV.
It's not their fault. But their partying appears very Marie Antoinette in our current context.

Well, that's your claim, anyway.
And your claim that the Bush twins are drunken, sleazy and promiscuous comes from what, exactly? More unproven stories like this one? And even if they were, this is an extraordinary claim. It requires extraordinary evidence. Photographic evidence, please.
And how the heck is running down a hallway naked sleazy and promiscuous?

They should be held to a higher standard. You should be ashamed for them as they have shamed us all.

85. LOL
I'm not going to research their resume for you, you wouldn't change your mind if I did. Suffice it to say that the photographic and criminal evidence over the years doesn't present these children as responsible or respectful of how their actions reflect on the Presidency and country. Believe otherwise if you wish, I'll believe they are acting in their typically characteristic manner.

With that said, I'm embarrassed for them and anyone who still so gullible to believe the best about the Bush family with so much information available. It does explain how almost a third of the country still supports him. P.T. Barnum said it best.

94. There's a difference between thinking the best of someone
And disbelieving a story that no one saw or heard firsthand reported in a tabloid.

92. They haven't shamed me
Edited on Thu Nov-30-06 01:51 AM by Psephos
Even if they actually did what this paragon of journalistic truth reported. But your morality policework is getting close to shaming me. Let's leave the Puritanism to our opponents across the aisle. It fits them much better.

OTOH, their father *has* shamed me. I don't need to dip into some Argentinian hearsay tabloid for more than that.

C'mon, lighten up. Remember who won in November. :-)

Peace.

82. Imagine How Hard it would be to grow up with that scrutiny
As much as a I hate their father, just imagine how hard it would be to grow up with this much scrutiny. Imagine the Secret Service and reporters around you everytime you want to do something young and stupid.

What was significant is that George W. Bush's "youthful indescritions" continued into his 40s.

97. They were 19 when Bush was elected.
Most of us did most of our growing up long before that age.

I think that's kind of the point.

Frankly, I wouldn't care if the Bush twins were giving blowjobs on the roof of the Empire State Building in full Nazi regalia EXCEPT insofar as their father has pointed many, many times to his superior morality and ability to raise his children compared with "welfare mothers" and "atheists" and other undesirables. With all of his wealth and advantages to have produced such poor specimens of children (and I'm sorry, carrying on this way at 25 is a pretty obvious sign of arrested development), is legitimate food for comment particularly in the middle of a war in which nearly 3,000 children of "lesser" families have already died.

My anger isn't directed at the Bush twins- who gives a shit what they do? My anger is directed at their father who 1.) holds his own family up as an example of his superior morality and 2.) supports a war of aggression as long as his own kids don't have to fight in it (on the other hand, he probably cares so little about them and what they do that it wasn't really a factor in his decision)

Hell, they just make stuff out of thin air to smear Democrats.

They don't even have the minimal standards of a tabloid.

46. they did this before...
just before the 2k electiom, there was a flurry of media concerning the 2 girls, getting caught drinking underage somewhere, if i recall correctly. The effect was to make the bush family look normal, stressed, and evoke sympathy for junyer: how many fathers of pretty daughters act helpless when they run wild etc etc?....the entire thing looked faked, cuz you know/i know and the pigmedis knows NOONE gets near the twins, and NO NEWS about them gets out, unless the pigmedia's boytoy is in trouble, and needs some connection to the weary world of mom/pop/family, which the pigmedia then provides....
poor president bush - and now his daughters are acting up again! we need to pray/vote for him! and stop crticising him, willyas!

71. And let's not forget how the right-wingnuts
went after the owner of the bar that turned them in. They harrassed, boycotted, threatened and smeared someone who was simply trying to make sure that the law against underage drinking was enforced. If you own a bar or a restaurant that serves alcohol, you can lose your operating license and face massive fines for allowing underage drinking.

Never forget that this is how they operate. Rules were not made for them, and if you try to enforce them, they'll do their best to ruin you. It's like the Soprano's. Although with the twins, it's probably more like the Soporno's

50. Meanwhile, in Iraq, 5 little girls will never see their next birthdays...
The youngest being 6 months old, and the eldest 10.
Killed by US forces responding to sniper fire from the
roof of their home.

And let us not forget the nearly 3000 sons and daughters
of fellow Americans who will never see their next birthdays
either- unfortunately, they were not born of elite parents
and sent to die for the lies of the twin's father and his
corporate cabal.

What a world.

Bush twins party on in South America while the rest of us
watch the less fortunate die.

54. 25 is the age recent research shows the brain is finally completely
developed. The last part that develops being the part that says "Now, that would be a dumb thing to do." (This must be why car insurance rates drop at 25).

Apparently the Bush twins are a bit behind in their development.

61. Honestly, if it's true,
which isn't certain, I'm more pissed they're "straining" taxpayer-funded security. Otherwise, I care very little about what the Bush girls do. I've known they were spoiled brats long before this, but spoiled just don't interest me that much.
