GOP outpaced in early voting

Democrats hold edge in survey of 18 counties
By Scott Finn
Staff writer

Democrats appear to be voting more than Republicans in the first week of early voting, according to data from county clerks across the state.

Democrats made up 64 percent of early voters, compared to 57 percent of all registered voters, according to a survey of county clerks representing more than half the state’s registered voters.

Republicans were 33 percent of early voters, compared to being 30 percent of registered voters.

1. This is good news, but don't get excited just yet

us Dems are the ones worried about vote counting and doing early votes so we won't surprised come election day. The repukes either think everything is okay-dokay OR they think the vote hacking will be
in their favor like the last 3 elections

2. This is great news!
I think this shows Dem voters are feeling especially motivated this election cycle -- or perhaps the Repukes are apathetic and have just decided not to vote.

In any case, my partner and I will be early voting this weekend because we are volunteer poll workers here in WVA. Keep your fingers crossed that we can rid ourselves of that vile Shelley Moore Capito!

3. In 2004, DEMS did better then REPS in Early Voting too
With Early Voting it's a lot harder for people to cheat or to commit fraud.

4. It looks like both are voting proportionately to their numbers, to me.
Was there a large number of Republicans turned Democrat recently?
