(Jimmy) Buffett: Pills not Ecstasy

Buffett said the pills actually were a prescription drug called Foltx. Without going into medical detail, he said it was a prescription vitamin supplement, nothing unusual for a 59-year-old man to carry.

According to information on the Web site of the drug's maker, Pan American Laboratories, Foltx is a dietary supplement containing folic acid, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12. It has a variety of uses, but is most often recommended for people at risk of common varieties of heart disease. It does come as a peach-colored tablet with a heart symbol embossed on one side, according to the site.

"I have never taken it (Ecstasy) and couldn't tell you the difference between a hit of Ecstasy and Excedrin PM," Buffett wrote. "My vices these days consist of boat drinks, beer, wine and the occasional hot fudge sundae. I hadn't even opened the bottle, because my secretary had made a mistake and had sent the wrong prescription. I don't use Foltx any more."

He seems like a truly easygoing and decent sort who's comfortable in his own skin.

The picture was a kid's movie about kids trying to stop a developer from destroying the habitat of an endangered species of burrowing owls. It's called "Hoot", and it's much better than most others of the genre; if you have children, rent it.

In addition to producing it, he plays one of the teachers and he's an absolute natural as an actor. Pity the movie didn't do more business.
