Republicans Target 3 Senate Races
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Filed at 5:30 p.m. ET

WASHINGTON (AP) -- In an unusual move, the Republican National Committee is investing heavily in television advertising in Senate races in Ohio, Tennessee and Missouri in what officials describe as a firewall strategy designed to limit Democratic gains in the Nov. 7 elections and maintain the GOP majority.

The move reflects a desire on the part of Ken Mehlman, the Republican Party chairman, and other strategists to exercise more control over the drive to retain a majority, according to several Republican officials. They said the decision has caused friction with officials at the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which historically has been the only party entity to run commercials on behalf of its candidates.

1. What about poor ol' Rick Santorum, left to fend for himself?
I feel bad for him, the way that the media portrays him as a hypocritical, bigoted, pandering asshole, when in fact he's really--

Oh, wait a minute...

4. We've had enough of this retard!

Watch the ad "The more we work together" showing Dewine with the Decider with school children singing in the background.

The more we work together, together, together,
The more we work together the happier we'll be,

'Cause you friends are my friends and my friends are your friends,
The more we work together the happier we'll be!

It's a real winner! Vote Sherrod Brown!

6. Sen. Claire McCaskill D-MO
It's time to run Mr. No-Talent out of the senate. If you have some spare change, please go to Claire's website: http://claireonline.com and donate. She could really use our support and while you're there, watch the highlights from her debate with Jim Talent on MTP. She's awesome and she's from my home state. Go Claire!

7. Those are the three closest US Senate races in the polls,
...and so this move makes sense from the RNC point-of-view.

8. Of course, so it's easier to explain the theft by Dieboldization
of the election tally in those three. I have no doubt the GOP will 'win' these three. They do what they want to when they have to, and the general public is still oblivious to election thefts 2000, 2002, 2004, so this one will go unreported and unnoticed as well.

9. these are Christian Right-heavy states

Take a wild guess at what the strategy is.

Oh, did I mention that Tony Perkins is having a 'Liberty Sunday' next Sunday (a huge infomercial for CR churches a la the 'Justice Sunday' things) that will be about "the sanctity of marriage" and broadcast live from Tremont Temple in Boston, Massachusetts?

Yes, the Republican strategy to retain control of the Senate is built on gay bashing.

11. Next year, Kos wants to promote a secular alternative...
...to megachurches:

...a chain of giant meeting places "replicating megachurches for the left" – complete with cafés and child care.

10. Likewise good states to target Dem GOTV campaigns:
Edited on Mon Oct-09-06 06:09 PM by pinto
The electoral-vote.com poll composites show TN and OH leaning barely Dem, with Missouri rated a toss up. (Composites for these states were as of 10/1, I believe.)
