Mexico warning on US border wall (BBC)
Last Updated: Thursday, 25 May 2006, 00:54 GMT 01:54 UK

The construction of a wall is not the answer to illegal immigration into the US, the Mexican president has said.

Immigration was the most pressing challenge in ties with the US but also their greatest opportunity, Vicente Fox said on the second day of his US visit.

It comes amid fierce US debate over an immigration reform bill which could benefit millions of Mexican migrants.

Mr Fox spoke as the US Senate cleared the way for final passage of the bill by voting to limit debate.

"One cannot underestimate the importance of this moment and how complex this issue is for our two nations," he told the Utah legislature.

if the US was not prosperous, those same people who come to the US would revolt and toss Mr. Fox and his gang in the dumpster.

Exporting people to the US is the FOX gang's safety valve. Mr. Fox knows this and that is why he is so agitated.

I look forward to the day the people of Mexico are truly free in their own land and coming to the USA is not a desperate choice
of survival, but instead is an option among many.

3. Well said
If Fox wasn’t so busy tap dancing for a few wealthy families and land barons he might be able to do some thing that would actually benefit the people of Mexico.

Granted looking at the POS in office I can see we have some commonalities with the oppressed working class persons of Mexico, but entering into the “Cheap labor Export/Import Business is not some thing either country needs

4. Exactly
I always tell people if they really want to know what the US will be like in 15-20 years, then just look at the shape that mexico is in with like 3 dozen wealthy families running the whole country. We are almost there in the US now, what will be seeing US Citizens sneaking over the Canadian Border in 15-20 years for a better life.

2. The Decider decided to "divide" our relationship with a southern neighbor.
He has proved that he is quite capable of making enemies in both hemispheres. Way to go!
