Bush Nominee for 5th Circuit Ct. of Appeals Rated 'Unqualified' by ABA
NYT/AP: Bush Nominee Rated 'Unqualified' by ABA
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: May 10, 2006

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The American Bar Association rated one of President Bush's judicial nominees ''not qualified'' Wednesday, prompting a call from a liberal group for the president to withdraw the Mississippi lawyer's nomination.

A panel of the nation's largest lawyers group unanimously agreed that Michael Wallace, nominated for the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, should receive its lowest rating.

Wallace, 54, was a former law clerk to Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist and special counsel to then-Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott of Mississippi during the impeachment trial of President Clinton in 1999.

The White House immediately disagreed with the ABA and rejected its rating....

''Wallace is the first appeals court nominee in 25 years to receive an unanimous 'not qualified' rating from the ABA. The president should immediately withdraw his nomination,'' said Ralph Neas, president of the liberal group People For the American Way....

3. Exactly...and what's more
The White House has continuously been using the ABA rating to toute its nominees.

They made sure to let us know that the ABA thought John Roberts and Samuel Alito were highly qualified.

4. The ABA don't know what they're talking about.
Wallace is fully qualified to be a flunky for the Administration. It doesn't take any particular skill to pick up the phone and ask BushCo what his judgements should be.

6. HAHAHAHA!
The fucking ABA is such a bunch of flunky whores, I always think of them as qualified to address any legal matter as The Book Of The Month Club.

But, I do enjoy watching slimeballs slime each other. Even in my own profession.

No, I've never been a member of the ABA.

9. I'm not involved in any way with the ABA, but I could
tell you after watching this guy for less than 60 seconds on C-span this morning that he was incompetent. Glad to read tonight that my assessment was correct.
