New York's attorney general blames President Bush for rising gas prices

ALBANY, N.Y. New York's attorney general says rising prices at the pump are President Bush's fault.

Democrat Eliot Spitzer, who's running for governor, says the spike demonstrates a failed national energy policy.

Spitzer says he's investigating recent price hikes by "vertically integrated" oil companies that drill and refine oil, and distribute and sell gas retail.

He's already suing three gas stations in New York, accusing them of price gouging after Hurricane Katrina. In December, 15 New York gas stations that marked up prices 25 percent or more immediately after Katrina paid 63-thousand dollars in fines.

1. And of course when gas prices

spiked during Clinton's tenure, Congress was all over it, right? And no one more vocal than Trent Lott. Where's the outrage now, hypocrites!
