The Scotsman: Full report above.
Summary below:

The US President was branded a threat to world peace by a clear majority, 60%, of those questioned by YouGov.

More than one in three, 37%, said Mr Bush was “stupid” while 33% called him “incoherent”.

Only a minority saw positive characteristics in Mr Bush, with just 7% regarding him as a good world leader, 6% as articulate and 10% as intelligent.

16. No no no!
The Brits are overly kind.

The people in the U.S. that watch the whore networks are the ones that haven't got it right!

2. Does that mean that 70% of Brits say * is stupid or incoherent?
If so, why do the other 30% think so much of him?

3. Only a third????
The British must have a very high threshold for stupidity (my apologies to our British DUers - we know where you fall in all of this...) And I thought he was "international"-stupid!

5. So are there polls of American's opinions of Bush's lack of intelligence
The last poll I read of American's had a much more tolerant attitude to him.
I think the Brits have hit the nail on the head.

17. Only one third?
Yeah, that surprises me. Especially with all the heat Blair is taking. I assumed most Americans thought he was stupid, even the ones who voted for him. For many that was a selling point I imagine.

12. Don't assume the other two thirds think highly of him
It's the nature of grabbing individual stats from polls that we haven't yet been told what the other 63% think.
They might think him a genius or a bit slow witted .
My guess is that the majority think him a bit dim.
We'll have to read the entire results to get a clearer picture.

Thanks for the welcome guys - good luck next year.

13. I can't make up my mind
if The Bush is doing it on purpose, or if he's turning a "deficit" into an "asset". There can bo no denying that Bush has a problem with his speeches and intelligence. However, I've heard that Bush says that people "misjudge" him, or underestimate him.

Deliberate? Or just a ruse? I don't know.

25. I found this
Edited on Tue Nov-18-03 11:47 AM by madddog
in a reuters story today:

"Despite much talk in the media about how unpopular Bush is, a poll in the left-leaning Guardian newspaper showed more British voters welcome the visit than reject it, and that 62 percent think America "a force for good, not evil, in the world." "

NPR just reported the same thing this morning...and a friend of mine in London said he saw about 50 people at a protest yesterday. Don't kill the messenger!
