Bush covers bases with holiday messages

The White House issued a trio of messages Monday with greetings from U.S. President George Bush and first lady Laura Bush.

...

After the White House holiday card was knocked for no reference to Christmas, Bush started off his Christmas message with a quote from the Gospel according to Matthew on Jesus' birth.

Both the Christmas and Hanukkah messages included support for the men and women who serve in the U.S. military.

In the Hanukkah statement, Bush did a quick retelling of the historical story -- a revolt against oppressors who forbade (Jewish people) to pray -- and the oil that lasted for eight days. The president said, As Jewish-Americans prepare to light the Hanukkah candles this year, we give thanks for God's many blessings and his watch and care over our nation.

In the Kwanzaa message, Bush said, As families and friends gather for Kwanzaa, Americans remembers the many contributions African-Americans have made to our country's characters and celebrate the diversity that makes our nation strong. May your commitment to family, faith and community thrive during the holiday season and throughout the coming year.

1. He forgot Festivus
although I can sort of see why, inasmuch as an integral part of Festivus is the airing of grievances. That could make for a loooooong holiday when King Dumbass** is involved!

2. Separate Christmas message...
...that the fundies can replay to their hearts' content. * was too big a chicken to put all his holiday greetings into the same paragraph, or to issue one generic "happy holidays."

Punk.

6. He forgot Yule.
It doesn't matter either way; with what his stupid environmental policies are doing to Gaia, no amount of sucking up will deliver the pagan vote.

If possible, he pisses me off even more when he tries to come across as a human being. :puke:
