Pataki snares Bush I money man
Pataki snares Bush I money man

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Republican George Pataki, eyeing a run for the White House in 2008, has snared a major fundraiser for the first President Bush to head the New York governor's national political action committee.

Walter Ganzi Jr., chief executive and co-owner of The Palm Restaurants, a chain of upscale steakhouses, said that while his initial goal is "to give the governor a major voice in the Republican Party," he also wants Pataki to run for president.

"I'd be very, very proud to have Governor George Pataki as my president," Ganzi said Tuesday in an interview with The Associated Press.

Ganzi said the governor "knows my feelings" but has not tipped his hand on whether he will run. Ganzi said he believed Pataki can win the GOP nomination and the White House, despite his support for gun control and abortion and gay rights _ positions that generally don't sit well with conservative GOP primary voters.

3. Waste of time.
Pataki is a loser and is bad on the issues within the republican party. Besides that, how many NYers are going to run for President?

Pataki
Guiliani
Hillary
I could swear there are more.

4. Pataki has no personality, he is a real bore. The only time we see..
him in Western New York is for photo ops if a new business is locating here or some such thing. Otherwise he is never to be seen. He is delusional if he thinks he would be elected president.

7. He's like Ronald McDonald
He shows-up for TV commercials, ribbon cuttings, parades, and visiting sick children when there are cameras around.
