Aide: GOP leaders agree to joint Katrina hearings
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- House and Senate Republican leaders have agreed in principle to hold joint hearings into the response by federal, state and local officials to Hurricane Katrina, a House Republican aide said Wednesday.

House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Illinois, and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tennessee, will announce the hearings at a Capitol news conference, Hastert's office said.

...snip...

It's uncertain when the joint hearings would begin, but GOP leaders have said repeatedly they don't want to pull officials out of the disaster area to testify.

The GOP aide said the hearings are expected to be bipartisan, but a high-ranking House Democratic aide said lawmakers from his party had not been contacted yet.

2. This part should worry you, though:
"but a high-ranking House Democratic aide said lawmakers from his party had not been contacted yet."

Sounds like the engineering of a cover-up to me. Perhaps we need to start pounding them again to make them realize any investigation MUST include Democrats as full partners or we, the public, will view it as just another Bush cover-up.

3. KEEP THE PRESSURE ON
I faxed both senators and my rep yesterday (slightly edited version at http://blatanttruth.org ) demanding that the entire Bush administration resign and insisting that Bush will NOT conduct an investigation into his own crimes, among other things, and intend to call/write/fax/e-mail every damn day.

KEEP THE PRESSURE ON! WE ARE OUTRAGED AND WANT THE BLOODSUCKERS REMOVED FROM PUBLIC OFFICE.
