"Who's the enemy?" distraught Iraqis wonder
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/BAK535856.htm

BAGHDAD, July 25 (Reuters) - As Iraq spirals deeper by the day into violence and lawlessness, Baghdad residents say brutality and corruption are spreading among the very security forces that are supposed to be protecting them.

Some maintain that the situation has grown so bad that at times they can't distinguish the behaviour of U.S.-trained Iraqi police and soldiers from that of militants or criminals.

And since insurgents have in the past infiltrated the police and army, at times it is impossible to tell the sides apart.

"Sometimes we don't know who the enemy is," said Ismael Mahmoud, a 32-year-old businessman whose cousin was recently seized by a special police unit and later found dead.

4. These people
have been starved, brutalized, manipulated, controlled etc. by the US in a hard core fashion for the last 14 years. Before that they endured the machinations of the West starting with Lord Curzon. One must by default assume a posture of the Racist to believe that this occupation is valid in any sense.

6. Neither Can We!
Maybe "those of us with sincere understandings" and the poor "Iraq people" should join in a special alliance. This is another sincerely saddened read.

What's wrong with *'s supporters? Have they absolutely no care, no hearts, no conscious?

I suppose they do not. It makes one just sick!
