Bush Says Diplomacy With Iran Is Best
WASHINGTON - The Bush administration on Wednesday reaffirmed its commitment to diplomacy as the best way to stop Iran from developing a nuclear weapon while Israel's leader ruled out a military strike to destroy Tehran's nuclear program.

The White House also sought to play down differences with Israel over the urgency of the threat.

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon contended Iran was years away from possessing a nuclear weapon, but only months short of overcoming "technical problems" in building one.

"Once they will solve it, that will be the point of no return," Sharon told CNN two days after his meeting with President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney at Bush's Texas ranch.

I'm thinking Israel with do thy masters bidding. as long as we pay for moving/relocation of Israelis out of the gaza settlements (1/2 $Billion).

27. Actually, I heard him the other night on Democracy Now!
And he was hedging. Said that June would be the earliest time. Also said that the US was surging 2 carrier-battle groups into the area to join the existing one. I think that's what he said.

5. Good cop, bad cop
NOTHING gets into the MSM the admin doesn't want to come out with just the right spin. Bush will appear to press for peace and appear to be the moderate as his surrogates, be they Negroponte, Bolton, Sharon will press for action... Eventually, shrubby will reluctantly accede to their wishes in the name of spreading democracy and protectying the world from that dangerous nuklear power that will give dirty bombx to terra-ists to blow up New York....

Believe me, it is starting...

12. remember that famous press conference?
"'This notion that the United States is getting ready to attack Iran is simply ridiculous.'

"(Short pause)

"'And having said that, all options are on the table.'

"Even the White House stenographers felt obliged to note the result: '(Laughter).'"

(The Washington Post's Dan Froomkin on George Bush's February 22 press conference)

18. All options are on the table...means a choice of air attack, boots on the
ground, or a combination. Those are the options he's referring to. Wait, there is another option - to arrange a colition or not...depends on hus much stolen money is available to buy help from other countries. What, no supporters, no colition partners...then we must have a bigger Pearl Harbor. Sick. Sick. Sick.

20. I always said that Bush will NEVER attack Iran, he doesn't have
the capability to do so. All capability has been squandered
with Iraq in a fruitless grab for oil. Now with Iraq on the verge
of a theocracy, Bush ( and Americans) are shit out of luck.

35. Like that would stop Chimpy?
For cripes sake, he's cut taxes
spent like a madman
not armed and armored our troops or commit the right amount of them
bothered to secure what they'd taken over when we invaded Iraq

Been stupid enough to put our country into a two front war already

Now, looking at these actions, does anyone actually think he's smart enough to consider reality.

33. On Air America today, interview with Scott Ritter
He said, according to people he's spoken with inside the White House, Bush ordered the military to be ready for a prolonged bombing campaign against Iran by June of this year.

That's not to say it *will* happen, but he thinks it's likely.

He laid out the whole scenario of how it will come about, with all the lying and phoniness he expected from the Bushies.

Very frightening. These people are nuts. Seriously nuts.

39. They're hoping for
a rerun of Serbia '99. Prolonged bombing campaign which leads to the Iranians giving up their nuclear programme, and later an "orange revolution" because the young people will see that all the propaganda they have been fed since childhood of America being the enemy was bogus. America just drops happy-bombs! Or something like that.

Which is completely nuts, yes. When they discover that bombing only has the effect of rallying the people around the mullahs in patritotism, and the mullahs won't give up their nuclear programme, then what will they do? Invade a country four times bigger than Iraq with three times its population and 20 times its military strength?
