Floridians disapprove of Schiavo case handling, poll says
With the nation's highest court as the only exception, Florida voters disapproved of the way the governor, his presidential brother, the state Legislature, Congress, the courts and the news media handled the Terri Schiavo case, according to a poll released today.

The biggest loser: The news media, by a 71-23 margin, according to Connecticut-based Quinnipiac University's survey of 1,044 Florida registered voters. The error margin is plus or minus 3 percentage points.

On the other end of the spectrum was the U.S. Supreme Court. Fifty percent of people supported the court, compared to 44 percent who didn't. On the whole, the courts fared better than the legislative and executive branches of government. Clay F. Richards, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, said the more involved an entity was in the Schiavo case, the more likely it was to be viewed unfavorably.

4. No long memories here...
I can't remember the details, but Jebbie was involved in the take-down of an S&L in the 80's. (Google "Broward Federal".) Lots of folks forget, and a lot of FL residents weren't here when that occurred.

2. On the other end of the spectrum was the U.S. Supreme Court.
And what did the SCOTUS do with the Schiavo case? Nothing! They refused to have anything to do with the case.

3. I guess they felt they'd already interceded enough by making
W prez in 2000. Makes it even harder to see what grounds they had for interceding on the chads.

5. Sounds about right
The media really pooched that one. The Schiavo case hit home with almost everyone I know. We all have families, and just about everyone has to face end-of-life decisions sooner or later.

I have enjoyed watching the ultra-RW fundies shoot themselves in the foot.

8. Sooooo
when are they going to change their legislative and executive branch. Maybe some of those conservative elderly votes will wake up and join those 'disenfanchised'. And what will it take to get rid of Jeb......what a piece of work.
