Negotiations Resume in Crosby-Ironton Teachers Strike (MN)

<snip> This is the first session since talks broke down March 16. That session ended after 171/2 hours when the school board declared an impasse.

The strike began February 9, when 87 teachers walked out. <snip>

Union president Stan Nagorski says the union proposed splitting the difference between the last offers by each side.

2. They're trying to intimidate them with massive layoffs including
4 of the 7 negotiators for the teachers. A 5th one is retiring or so I heard today. They have to hang tight. Our unions are going to be challenged every time now. If the unions fight and win their successes will help the non union people too. We can't let our unions go!
