1. Actually I think they are more common than anyone is willing to admit.
Seems everyone may have them with the exception of pre invasion Iraq.

3. And Bush has accelerated the process. Now, almost every country
will have a few atomic weapons and the missiles to deliver them.Just to stop mad imperialists like Dubya and Blair. When one of theose bombs is set off in our cities,we wouldn't know whether it is a Muslim or a Buddhist or a Hindu or a Jew or a Commie or a supply sider.Cheney will send his PNAC to investigate after the fact like he did on 9/11.

5. So far MAD worked. (mutual assured destruction)
The U.S and Russia (former Soviet Union) are living proof. I am not too worried about Taiwan all they need is just one good nuclear air burst over China there goes the Chinese economy. Wanna bet someone in Taiwan has a bomb? The same would work for South Korea and our high tech weapon systems. I would not be surprised if South Korea has a bomb or two hidden away. In the 1970's it was suggested the Soviet Union gave the Egyptians a couple bombs, no mention of that today.

A friend of mine pointed out it would not take a massive exchange of nuclear weapons to really mess us up. EMP would wreck the infrastructure almost beyond repair.

You are right the current bunch of idiots have accelerated this as a cause for survival.

7. People living on islands should never consider engaging in nuclear wars
One air burst over Taiwan and China can begin repopulating the island the following year with mainlanders.

9. Crossing in Junks and carrying clubs. Taiwan would have a lot of scrap.
Even in the 1950's and early 1960's fried electronics was one of the major reasons Cold Warriors were willing to consider underground testing.

11. Neutron bombs are mostly tactical meant to kill grunts.

Because they penetrate bunkers to a degree leaders don't care for them so they shy away from anything to large. The Russians have built lots of nice big bunkers which is why they put up such a howl. I don't think Dick would be a fan of nuetron bombs depending on how good his bunker.

India and Pakistan are considering neutron bombs.

If you want to try for the latest try one of the new quantum bombs being considered up to 60 times the yield in converting x-rays into gamma radiation. You may not even have to use uranium or plutonium with fall out. They would be a whole new class of bomb as opposed to conventional nuclear weapons.

2. With our intelligence being so dismal
North Korea can say anything it wants. There is no way we could prove them wrong.

4. I think you can boost A-bombs without actually being thermo-nuclear
i.e. an H-bomb. If I recall, the yield can be boosted from the tens to hundreds of kiloton range that way. It would be a pretty powerful weapon either way.

8. Electro-magnetic Pulse in other words.
To fry the electronics on the ground, incapacitating a lot of command and control. Maybe wreck some low orbit spy satellites too.

12. So human. The creators of PNAC didn't expect resistance. Maybe, just maybe
Edited on Mon Mar-21-05 06:17 PM by HypnoToad
resistance is not futile.

Might cost us all our lives, but better than than subjugation. I prefer freedom, sorry. I'll be the best I can be, but when it comes time to answer the ultimate question, I might prefer ending myself than living in conditions where I'd not only beg for death, but be denied it as well.

Oh yes. Bush and Lil' Kim Jong whoever are two of a kind. And I suspect Bush wants China or a neighboring country to help us. Things could get interesting.
