Germany and Spain face action on opening of energy markets

Germany and Spain are to be warned that they face legal action for failing to implement European Union laws to open their energy markets.

They are among 10 laggard countries that have not put rules on liberalising gas and electricity markets into national law.

The European Commission's threat of legal action, set to be made on Wednesday, is the latest push in long-running efforts to complete the market opening of one of the EU's biggest industries. <snip>
