Iraq to close borders for polls

Iraq is to close all its land borders for three days around the 30 January elections in an attempt to boost security, election officials have said.

Other measures will include a ban on driving without an official permit and extensions to existing curfews.

A BBC correspondent says the measures are a draconian bid to protect voters.
