Based on his interviews with O'Neill and several other officials at the meetings, Suskind writes that the planning envisioned peacekeeping troops, war crimes tribunals, and even divvying up Iraq's oil wealth.

He obtained one Pentagon document, dated March 5, 2001, and entitled "Foreign Suitors for Iraqi Oilfield contracts," which includes a map of potential areas for exploration.

“It talks about contractors around the world from, you know, 30-40 countries. And which ones have what intentions,” says Suskind. “On oil in Iraq.”

According to CNN poll, 80% of respondants already think we were mislead on Iraq, and at the same time support Bush.

People don't seem to really care that much that they were lied to, nor care much that we are in Iraq for unjust reasons. 60 minutes won't change that.

They are scathing and more. I was under the impression that O'Neil wrote the book but it was written by a Wall St Journal reporter, who also interviewed a hundered others. O'Neil was the only one that did not wish ot be anonymous.

It cannot be spun because there are 19,000 documents to back it up. This may not lead to impeachment but it will damn sure create a helluva headache for Bush and Cheney... if the Democrats do not let it die. It is not the responsiblity of the media to keep the story alive...it is the responsibility of the loyal opposition to keep it in front of the media...

17. Due to the playoffs I've seen the 60 min ad about 100 times yet every time

...the ad runs, they seem to leave out this information. The 60 min ad basically says: Some former administration official says that Shrubby wasn't really paying attention in a meeting or two. It says nothing about (at least not the ones that I have seen) the fact that the war was planned before 911. It says nothing about O'Neill's claims that all that was left was trying to find a way to justify it. Is it just me or is it odd that the only episode that is even half worth watching will be aired in direct competition with the 4th quarter of a playoff game?
