Mayor Kelly supports President Bush
Edited on Sun Aug-01-04 05:43 PM by Another Bill C.
"St. Paul Mayor Randy Kelly broke Democratic Party ranks on Sunday to announce his support for President Bush's re-election."

http://www.wcco.com

There's something about being mayor of St. Paul that turns them into weasels. Kelly is following Norm Coleman's lead in turncoat politics.

2. Look at his quote!!!!!!
"George Bush and I do not agree on a lot of issues," Kelly said in a statement. "But in turbulent times, what the American people need more than anything is continuity of government, even with some imperfect policies."

Oh my god! Why have democracy then? Continuity of Government? Why hold elections?

10. So he'd have supported Hitler when the Allies started shooting back?
He'd have supported Pol Pot? Stalin? Tojo?

You don't support the continuity of a monster and his harebrained policies.

You can tell him I said that.

That * will win and kelly will be sitting more politically pretty in the next four years?

3. "continuity of government"
more important "in these times of trouble" than Bush's policies. So I guess we should just cancel elections until things quiet down.

5. It proves he is a Dino
There are a LOT of Republicans posing as Democrats. Look at sell-out Zell Miller......voted 99% of the time with the repukes.....then turncoats like Kelly,Koch, and Miller supporting that idiot....PROVES what they really are. It's a disgrace.

7. Time to start the RECALL!
These M-F'ers run on the Democratic ticket so they can be elected and because they know Saint Paul would NOT do so otherwise.

Kelly is a friend of Coleman (surprise!)

18. Isn't It Time For Dem Party Officials To Kick A Little Ass Here ???
If I were a MN Dem, I'd want my local, state, and national leaders to disassociate themselves from statements like the mayor's. Hell man, Dem endorsements for Chimp-Boy should be grounds for withdrawl of financial support for future races.

If you want to go it alone, you will in fact BE alone.

24. Kelly for kerry
Not the Mayor of Saint Paul but me. He said his mind was made up by a bumper sticker that said I hate Bush??? Very good thought process very deep, no wonder he thinks mad king george will make america safer. Im glad i live in Minneapolis and not Saint Paul they smoking sum very weird shit on dat side of the river. I was so pissed at this fool I wrote the Star Tribune a letter about Mayor Dino, but i guess he thinks hes smarter than Clinton Carter numerous Generals and the Democratic party, you can bet he took a bribe. Theres Pawlenty of Malarky in Minnesota but the amount of pressure proves that it is Wellstone country and they are very concerned. They should be good people gather here.

26. This is wrong. Period.
Edited on Sun Aug-01-04 11:54 PM by abernste
Look, if somebody wants to support * because they believe in his policies, fine. That's their right. I would disagree with them to the core of my being, but it is still their right.

But this is just wrong. Objectively wrong.

Based on this moron's reasoning, we shouldn't even hold an election. It doesn't matter that the decision to go to war was a sham or a mistake, once it's made we can't turn out the person who made it. What a complete joke!

Honestly, if this crap is allowed to stand, it would send a message to every future President with a similar lack of scruples as * to simply start a war and then argue that you need another 4 years to finish it.

Somebody in MN needs to call this guy on it and send letters to every major newspaper and television station in the state.

28. So It's Not Enough That They Take Over The Suburbs And Rural Areas
Now the Goopers have to send in stealth candidates in order to take over our cities??!!!

Just for the sake of argument that he is not thinking of jumping parties, who the hell told him that backing Bush would be a good idea in a strongly Democratic city?

29. As someone from St. Paul
I am disgusted. I thought Kelly was a "good guy" until this. At least we still have our good senator Mark Dayton--anybody catch his remarks to the 9/11 commission regarding the FAA-NORAD failures? He stayed up all night reading the report instead of attending "convention functions"--and then called them on it. I am writing him (again) to encourage him--and to ask him to condemn Kelly as a Coleman-Bush sellout. Then I'm going to flame Kelly.

This is Wellstone country, for God's sake!

on many Americans. :-( :-( :-(

"But in turbulent times, what the American people need more than anything is continuity of government, even with some imperfect policies."

And that the Republicans will use this as their major campaign tactic.
