Washington's Chalabi nightmare [FBI grills Neocons; TREASON committed?]
Edited on Thu May-27-04 08:24 PM by johnfunk
Ah, the delicious, extra-tasty irony. As my pal Hesiod pointed out in his blog, the Neocon Thug Cabal wouldn't hesitate to label anyone who opposed their Iraq crusade a "traitor." Problem is, it looks like one or more of their legion of true believers did just that, passing on US secrets to Ahmed Chalabi...
At a well-appointed conservative think tank in downtown Washington and across the Potomac River at the Pentagon, FBI agents have begun paying quiet calls on prominent neoconservatives, who are being interviewed in an investigation of potential espionage, according to intelligence sources. Who gave Ahmed Chalabi classified information about the plans of the U.S. government and military?
My money's on Doug "Uday" Feith and Richard "Qusay" Perle, the two sneakiest little shits in DoD (officially or otherwise).

Someone should be setting odds on who gets frogmarched in Chalabigate...

ON Edit: OOPS! Forgot the link!

1. Treason=Yes.
Many here can agree the government has been hijacked. Who and what and to what ends may be debatable, but there has been a takeover...

Any and all inquiry needs to be supported...many will be self serving, but hey, look to the long term. We can't have a "shadow government" operating in our name.

He is an adamant supporter of Israel.

At present, he has access to all manner of classified information and "he's in the loop on war planning." (Marshall 12-17-2001)

He was investigated in 1980s for possible ties to the Israeli espionage case involving Jonathan Jay Pollard. (Steinberg 10-26-2001)

"An FBI summary of a 1970 wiretap recorded Perle discussing classified information with someone at the Israeli embassy. He came under fire in 1983 when newspapers reported he received substantial payments to represent the interests of an Israeli weapons company. Perle denied conflict of interest, insisting that, although he received payment for these services after he had assumed his position in the Defense Department, he was between government jobs when he worked for the Israeli firm." 7. These fuckers are TRAITORS,
Edited on Thu May-27-04 07:44 PM by liberalhistorian
who've committed the worst TREASON against their own country, it's just that fucking simple. If this had happened under Clinton or any other Dem, you'd better damn well believe that there would not only be a helluva lot more fuss in the media, but that the prez and all involved would be immediately impeached and strung up by their balls.

And the irony of the bastard neocons getting a taste of the medicine they've shoved down every other Americans' throats, (the increased surveillance and snooping, and the suspicion of being a traitor, etc.) is just too rich!

10. Very ironic, considering the book "Treason" by Ann Coulter.
It's a wonder any American citizen thought the Presidency of George W. Bush would go any other way. "Worse than Watergate". I'll say. Nixon wasn't a TRAITOR to his country.

"Benedict Arnold" is still the most shameful name in American History. Perle, Wolfowitz et. al are really going to be in the history books, but no one will "sing great songs" about them.

Hmmm...was it the Great Stan Lee who said that "With great power comes great responsibility"?
