been through some nasty storms before, the occasional tornado warning that amounted to making the kids sleep downstairs. We talked about the 'safe place', a hallway bath, but we'd never used it. The cat and I were in it around 9:30 this morning. It's been warning after warning with howling winds, hail, driving rains all day and I have a new tornado warning.

The damage reports I've seen on local news are bad, but my husband called home about an hour ago to check on us as another bit of nasty had just passed over us and he told me that 2 men who work for him have lost their homes in S Bradley County, TN. One learned about his when he was out to set new utility poles to restore power in the area.

The threat won't be done for us until after midnight. I'm exhausted and it still sounds like someone is bowling in the sky.

Although I did see on the local news that county officials (now majority republican, hate the feds. numbnuts) are going to request federal help. I'll have fun with that bit of bullshit, no doubt, although my heart breaks for the suckers who vote for republicans around here.
