What happens when the Money is all gone....?

So if gas is projected to hit $6+ this summer, and budget cuts continue to disembowel the safety net that more & more rely on, and houses and businesses continue to stand empty... what's next?
Really, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
HOW BAD DOES IT HAVE TO GET!!!!?

I have never seen the amount of empty businesses and homes that I do today. I see friends who have sold their cars because they cant afford to put gas in them, and aren't getting the hours at work to even break even. (and we're talking Mcdonalds and kmart jobs - for college grads)

This spiral is out of control, and feels like a huge black hole pulling me into it's event horizon. Where is the change? where is the accountability? Why is my bank telling me i have a balance (enough to buy $5 of gas) and then charging me for overdraft fees *after* enough money is put in to cover...? because they CAN.

I am scared, really scared. Wondering if growing a garden will even help us at this rate (can canning help us survive the winter? will we have enough firewood?). wonder how long it would be before my own HUD housing help evaporates and we are on the street. Thinking about the increase in gas and the domino effect of food costs, and the fact that i live in a tourism economy and it is going to get even worse...no hope for finding a job anytime soon, been unemployed for 2+ years, even went to school and re-trained...and it makes no difference.

I am sick of reading the headlines, hearing about trump and bullshit distractions when survival is MY reality and that of SO MANY others.
I am angry and disheartened and want to just give up...but i don't know how to do that. Yet according to those who are in the top 3%, i have already given up because I am a loser on welfare...
