even though is doesn't effect your American citizenship. McCain was born in Panama of American parents. He would not be eligible for the presidency because he was not born in a state of the United States, but in a Panamanian hospital. Goldwater was born in the territory of Arizona, before it became a state and only because he lost, the question has not been settled.
