HP was always a mixed bag. There were some excellent, well written and fact based articles. There were more that were essentially gossip, but on political goings on rather than celebrities. There were many articles that could later be seen as having been fed to the writer (they are all not journalists) by a politician trying to achieve his own ends.

It also kind of reminded me of the discount stores, where you always knew they would have lots of stuff, sometimes interesting and some gems, but you could not count on them carrying the category of stuff you wanted. They also seemed to lack an editor and any fact checking. (The saving grace is that their culture included comments - not much but something.)

Whether I read will depend on which writers stay and which ones go. The quality always depended just on them.
