On Cain, the Kochs and the whacked on GOP governors

That Cain was put up by the Koch brothers isn't even in dispute, but the question for many has been why didn't they put up a more serious candidate. Even before the sexual harassment allegations, the man had a knack for saying some fairly stupid things and never quite looking like a real contender. Some have speculated that he was in it to sell his books, that doesn't make sense from the billionaire's perspective though - they're not stupid and they plan for the long haul rather than just throwing good money after bad.

It dawned on me this weekend - I think Cain was thrown out there to show the GOP governors just what sort of support they could have by licking the master's boots. With lightning speed, Scott, Kasich, Walker, Christie and the bunch went to work dismantling unions, long term school teachers, safety net programs in their states - with no apparent regard for how it would impact their futures, the back lash has been outstandingly against them.

It's more like POTUS is being held out as the golden carrot to the Governors like never before. As if there's a new reality show running but we're not allowed to see the cameras. Here's a list of the Koch brothers demands, the first Governor to reach the end of the list will be POTUS in 2016. And they have the money to make that happen - and have tossed Cain into the ring just to show how far they could push him up the polls.

"C'mon Gov Walker, look at this buffoon we've got out polling everyone for the nomination. Think how far we could take you. Gov Scott? Don't you want to live in the White House? Surely you have more to offer than Herman here (he's a black man after all, and this is the GOP)...."

Maybe its wrong, but it's the only thing that makes sense of it all to me. Herman "golden carrot on a stick" Cain
