Hundreds more left with out any shelter. City of Fresno says they have "vouchers" for housing. So they tear down the shelters of hundreds and a few people will get "vouchers".

As you are probably aware, the City of Fresno is planning on evicting the homeless from 3 different homeless encampments, starting at 7 a.m. on November 1. Those 3 homeless encampments are identified by the city as:

1. Golden State from California Avenue bridge to the Monterey Street Bridge.
2. G street sidewalks south of Rescue Mission to California.
3. Monterey, Broadway, San Benito, & H streets (east side of the Monterey bridge).

The plan right now is for everyone who is coming to protest the eviction of the homeless to meet at 7 a.m. on H street (south of Ventura), close to the overpass. You will see the overpass when you turn south on H street off of Ventura. There is plenty of free parking.

If you arrive after 7 a.m., you might have to look around to find us, because we will be heading to one of the several locations where the city will be conducting their work. This is a much larger area than the Santa Fe encampment, where we were at last Thursday. I expect that it will be more difficult, if not impossible to have protesters at all of the locations where the city is working.

Unfortunately, we do not have a Temporary Restraining Order to stop the evictions. So, realistically, the city will move forward with these evictions and it is unlikely that we will be able to stop them. What we can do is to be there to support the homeless and protest the cruel and heartless policy of the City of Fresno.

Our demand is for the city to not evict the homeless, unless they have a better place for them to go. The city should provide a safe and legal place for the homeless to live that has drinking water, a place to go to the bathroom, and trash pick up. Displacing the homeless will not help to end homelessness and will in fact make their lives significantly more difficult. Picture a homeless woman who had some security by having neighbors who could help look out for her now living under an isolated oleander bush where she is more vulnerable to predators. There will be a lot of additional suffering as a result of the city’s policy.

The clean up that is starting on Tuesday at 7 a.m. may continue for several days. You are not expected to stay for the entire time. Feel free to come at any time (for as long as you can) on Tuesday and if you can come on Wednesday, that would be helpful. What I want people to do is to take photos and video of the “clean up” paying particular attention to the destruction of any property that has value. The City of Fresno is under a federal court order not to destroy homeless peoples property. Please send me any photos you take that show the destruction of homeless peoples property.

Email the Gov and so called progressive leaders in CA.

ov Jerry Brown http://gov.ca.gov/m_contact.php

Lt Gov Gavin Newsom http://www.ltg.ca.gov/m_contact.asp

Attorney General Harris http://ag.ca.gov/contact/complaint_form.php?cmplt=PL

Here is a sample.

How can the State of CA continue to allow the City of Fresno abuse the Human Right of it's citizens ? I am sickened to see what the State of CA continues to allow the City do to its most vunerable. For 10 years they have been tearing down and trashing people who are homeless last possessions. The City officials lie to the public when they say they are helping them. They might help 1% and then abuse the rest. Mike Rhodes has documented this for at least 10 years in his local "Community Allance". I had hoped with a Democrat controlled Government it would stop. How sad it hasn't. Please help.

I'm attaching one of the postings I have put out there hoping someone would help.

Also here is Mike's articles for the past 10 years. It is inhumane

and the progressive's press conference before the recent trashing.

Please do something to stop this or more homeless people will die.
