What are we talking about? What is Obama not yielding on? What does Ronald Reagan have to do with this?

Also, what's so terrible about a short-term increase in the debt ceiling. We do it all the time with budget negotiations...

This whole thing has me confused. Yesterday McConnell appeared to signal that he'd be willing to let the debt ceiling increase with no real strings attached. People were saying that this meant the GOP caved. Today we have Obama saying that bigger is better in terms of the size of a deficit agreement. I really don't understand what either side's position is anymore.
