Some individuals would rather refuse to acknowledge they are being fucked by finding justifications for the fucking, than actually confront those who are fucking them. Even though technically, both reactions may require the same level of energy. Many if not most social institutions (government, religion, corporations, etc) work by taking advantage of this fact.


Humans are a fascinating animal species, we ones who like to fancy themselves not animals are usually the ones who display a large set of animal traits. Fun ensues after that...
