Arith-me-tic !

When the Big Dog stood proudly before the cheering crowd of Democrats tonight, he said that Republicans wondered how a poor country boy from Arkansas could go to Washington and balance the federal budget. Bill Clinton said it wasn't complicated. It was "arithmetic".

He had a response for every distortion and every lie that had been forth by the leaders of the other Party. From Medicare to health care to welfare reform to whether or not we are better off now than 4 years ago. The Big Dog was emphatic!

He pointed out in the simplest and bluntest manner how Republican numbers did not add up. He explained slowly and carefully how their plan was to cut taxes another $5 trillion dollars and how they were going to cut tax loopholes and make cuts across government to pay for the tax cuts. He spoke dead seriously how many people, poor children and the handicapped, would suffer under the Romney-Ryan plan.

But he also pointed out that when you asked them what cuts they were going to make or what tax loopholes they were going to close, they always say to wait until "after the election". He said their plan was missing one small thing - arith-me-tic!
