I will absolutely acknowledge that predatory lending practices did "rope" a lot of people into impossible loans.

However, I know far, far too many idiots who NEVER pay more than the miniumum and then default without a thought because their personal circumstances are temporarily a little tight. Who then turn about and cry foul when the law is applied against them.

Yes a whole lot of people are in trouble because of circumstances beyond their control, but a whole lot more are where they are ONLY because the rest of the world simply failed to cooperate with the sales hype and their own wishful thinking.
