109. Remember everyone, it's really easy to donate to food banks! (The GOOD banks)
Sneaking into this thread at the top, to remind everyone that many, many grocery stores provide the opportunity to donate to local food banks. Many include the option to donate cash credits to the stores for the food banks, which the food banks can then use for whatever they're running short of!

Google the name of your county and "food bank". You'll find local food banks' websites listing stores which participate and asking your help in volunteering to help with collections. The banks will also provide wish lists of suggested product donations.

To Rusty Dog in Seattle - thanks for sharing what happened - I've forwarded your post to about 60 people on my email list with a reminder to keep an eye out for people in need of help and "do unto others".

And re grocery stores in Seattle - I was visiting my son a few years back (he lives in Fremont) and when we went to the grocery store, he froze dead in his tracks in the parking lot and told me in awe that the guy just coming out of the entrance was Dave Matthews.
